In awe

Discovering a new trail recently, I find myself in awe each time I step foot on the forest floor.  I am mostly in awe of the sheer size of the trees as I walk along side hundreds of ponderosa pines that reach towards the sky in their vertical beauty.  It is here in the silence of the trees that I am in awe of my smallness, yet at the exact same time, the greatness that is me.  It is the presence of these trees that I find my groundedness, my belonging, and my self.
